Where Every Meal Tells a Story
Established
1987
Heritage Soul Food Restaurant began as a dream in Dorothy Mae Johnson's kitchen in 1987. What started as a small takeout window serving her grandmother's famous fried chicken has grown into a beloved community institution. For 37 years, Dorothy has been serving up authentic Southern cuisine made with love, using recipes passed down through five generations of her family. The restaurant has become more than just a place to eat—it's where families celebrate milestones, where community meetings happen over plates of collard greens, and where the spirit of Highway Park's rich culinary heritage lives on.
